There is a very large pond, full of small carp and silver fish – unfortunately we lost over 100lb of larger carp a few years ago – which you are welcome to feed with leftover baguettes. If you like fishing then Pescalis Angling Centre (http://www.pescalis.com) with every type of fishing you may want is 5 minutes away, as is the local river.
The water attracts lots of wildlife and has a resident but rarely seen coypu – relax quietly in the hammock and you might catch a glimpse. Kingfishers and herons are regular visitors often seen perching on the rock or in the margins, and the deer do come and drink here but usually only in the early morning.
There is a buoyancy aid for emergencies – we do advise not to let small children near, or let dogs swim for safety’s sake. The pond is around seven feet at its deepest, although the water table does lower considerably in summer.
